Lamar High School Sports Auction

The auction helps the sports department offset the sports teams expenses.
LAMAR, MO.--- Lamar High School is gearing up for its second annual sports auction. The auction helps the sports department offset the sports teams expenses. Last year, the event made a little more than $5,000. Guest will have the opportunity to bid on old Lamar uniforms, old banners, football helmets and even a Lamar football signed by the Duck Dynasty cast. The Lamar athletic director says without the community's help, this auction wouldn't be possible. Many of the businesses donate the items auctioned off.

"We get a lot of things from this community because this community supports these sports and these activities here at this high school so well, and I just can't think them enough. It's just a great community effort here to keep these things running and running smoothly," said Dale Patton, Lamar High School Athletic Director.

The auction will take place on March 28th at the Lamar Middle School gym. The evening will start off at 6 p.m. with the winter sports awards and the sports auction will follow at 7 p.m.
