FORT SCOTT, KS.--- Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins visited several downtown businesses this morning. She asked workers about the challenges they face in day-to-day operations and how they think those problems could be fixed. One business owner told Jenkins she'd like to see lawmakers make better use of tax dollars. The congresswoman said she'd like to pass legislation updating the tax code.
"We no longer compete with pittsburg and overland park here in fort scott. We compete internationally for business and our tax code is not competitive for a global economy," said Representative Lynn Jenkins, Kansas.
Jenkins' tour of Fort Scott also touched based on everything from education and insurance to manufacturing operations.
