JOPLIN, MO.--- Employees are stocking the shelves at a new market in Joplin. The Walmart Neighborhood Market will be the first one in Joplin, and the grand opening is fast approaching. 95 employees are on the job, finishing up last minute touches. The 42,000 square foot store will include a full line of groceries, a drive-thru pharmacy, and an assortment of merchandise.
"We'll have a full service deli, with a smoker oven that is just awesome. We'll do ribs, pork loins, chickens, and stuff like that. It's an applewood smoker. We will eventually at some point in time, have a gas station. It will probably be later on in the summer," said Steve Hoag, Walmart Neighborhood Market Manager.
The Joplin operation is still taking applications for open positions. The store is set to open on May 1st at 8 in the morning.
