Joplin Tree Limb Drop-Off Site Opens Early

With last weeks storm and increased demand, the City of Joplin has opened up the tree limb drop-off site earlier than planned.
JOPLIN, MO.--- The site located at 1702 North Schifferdecker Avenue will be open tomorrow from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents can drop off limbs on the third Saturday of every month with the same hours starting June 21st. This is a free self service drop off for all Joplin residents who have tree limbs and brush to dispose.

"We're going to be a little on the honors system. So we're hoping people won't abuse it, that they don't bring trash. You know, that it's for strictly tree limbs and brush. Hopefully, everybody takes advantage of this being open," said Mary Anne Phillips, Joplin Recycling Coordinator.

Phillips also said that tree limbs can be picked up with the weekly city trash service as long as they are cut to maximum length of 4 feet and bundled a maximum weight of 50 pounds.
