JOPLIN, MO.--- Maiden Lane was closed for about five hours, but now parts of the street are open for traffic. The outside southbound lane of Maiden at the intersection remains closed at this time. This means there is one lane open for southbound traffic. Also, Junge is closed from Porter to Cunningham.
"At this point, there is no need for anybody in the area to worry about whether they need to leave their homes or anything like that. So everybody can stay at their home, but just try to avoid the area if at all possible," said Lt. Matt Stewart, Joplin Police Department.
These road and lane closures are expected to continue into the evening hours.
