JOPLIN, MO.--- The Joplin Food Action Network or JFAN is a coalition of 20 plus community groups who want to ensure that people have access to healthy and nutritious food. The members are looking to get feedback from a wide demographic with a survey. Based on the results, they want to find out what is causing food inequity in the area and why some people aren't getting healthy foods.
"We want people to get the nutritious foods that they need. What are the barriers to that, we don't want to sit down as a group and pretend that we know. So we're putting out this survey to the entire community to find out what are those issues," said Cathy Brown, Grant Coordinator, Freeman Health System.
Once JFAN has the results, they want to figure out action plans to solve those issues with the community. If you want to complete the survey, click here.
