JOPLIN, MO.--- The $18,000 grant is from the General Mills Foundation. The money will be used to support crisis care for children, and help continue to feed the kids who are at Children's Haven. More than 15,000 meals and snacks were served last year, and the organization is expecting to give out a lot more meals this year.
"It helps keep this houses open. It helps keep kids safe, comes from grants just like General Mills and from individuals here around Joplin, Southwest Missouri area," said Liz Erickson, Children's Haven.
The money will be put to use right away. Children's Haven provides a temporary home for children birth through 17-years-old whose families are experiencing a crisis.
