JOPLIN, MO.--- Crews are also working on an auditorium, along with the band and choir rooms. The original goal was to have everything opened by the start of school, but several delays put the crews behind schedule.
"Underground mines we had encountered and the redesign that we had to work through to reestablish the foundation before we could go back to work. So outside of those, you know the weather early on was not bad, but the weather this last season has been really dry for us and not good for construction," said Jason Bishop, V.P. Universal Construction.
The high school is expected to be completely finished by January.
