Jason joined the KODE News team in April of 2014 as the Weekend Weather Anchor and Reporter. Before moving to Joplin, Jason grew up Omaha, NE. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and obtained a bachelors degree in meteorology-climatology in December 2012. Jason has interned at KCAU-TV in Sioux City, IA and KLKN-TV in Lincoln, NE. In his last semester at UNL he served as a meteorologist on the Star City News, which is the university student news. Jason actively participated in AMS student events as well as the UNL storm chase team. He was also very active with his fraternity.

Jason has always had a passion for weather since he was a kid, especially for severe weather. Growing up in the Central Plains as well as storm chasing has given him experience with severe weather. Jason has actually seen up to a half a dozen tornadoes. In fact the 6th tornado he saw was outside the station here in Joplin during his first weekend! Jason loves to discuss various topics in weather and analyze the atmosphere. In addition to his job here at KODE, he also provides monthly and seasonal weather outlooks to several farmers back home in Nebraska and Iowa. Jason says long range weather forecasting is another interest he's taken up since graduating college.

Outside of weather he loves to spend time with his friends and family. He enjoys exercising, bowling, golf, snowboarding, traveling and of course watching cornhusker football. Jason is excited to begin his career in a nice town like Joplin and be able to forecast for the four states area.
