LAMAR, MO.--- A new business is bringing diesel fuel to the Barton County area. Independent Diesel Services will be located in the Lamar Heights area, which is located right next to I-49. They'll specialize in semi-trucks and agriculture equipment as well. The space will be about a 6,000 square foot building with three large bays for diesel trucks. As well as, an area for tire services, oil changes and transmission work. Barton County Chamber members say the new business will add jobs to the area.
"We're getting more people in the place that we live and it's going to, of course, increase the tax level, just the activity with sales tax," said John Adams
Barton County Community Development Corp. Executive Director.
The diesel station will also have 24-7 emergency service for trucks on the interstate. Construction is expected to start in March and open for business in April.
