JOPLIN, MO.--- Home Sweet Homes USA is ready to build a new house for a local family. The ground breaking ceremony took place today for the Wilson's new home. It will have three-bedrooms, two-baths, a two-car garage, and a tornado shelter. Gerald Wilson is a Vietnam veteran and wounded warrior. He and his wife Karen are excited about their new home and say it's been a long time coming.

"It's kind of, still kind of hard to believe. And we drive by the lot everyday. You know, just knowing soon there will be a home here that will be ours," said Karen Wilson, New Homeowner.

Home Sweet Homes is a nonprofit and faith based organization that assists senior adults and wounded warriors in their housing needs.
