Healthy Nevada Community Grant Writing Training

The course taught individuals how to write good proposals, so even if they don't write a grant, they can write a better project proposal for someone else.
NEVADA, MO.--- Organization leaders from Vernon and surrounding counties train to write community grants more successfully. Participants have been training with Cerner Corporation out of Los Angeles since Monday at the Healthy Nevada Innovation Center. The course taught individuals how to write good proposals, so even if they don't write a grant, they can write a better project proposal for someone else. Healthy Nevada leaders say better grant writers create more community opportunities.

"We're really growing our own grant writers. These are people that are going to know each other and are going to be here. So 10 year from now, our grants writing capacity is going to be much better than if we just relied on outside grant writers that eventually wouldn't, couldn't pay anymore," said John Gulick, Healthy Nevada Development Fund Consultant.

Among the 30 participants are seven local public healthy employees from across the state, seven University Extension staff, and four participants from Kansas.
