Hayden Herrera joins the sports team after being born, raised and educated in Fayetteville, AR.

I joined the KSN Sports team in September of 2013.  I am a
graduate of the Walter J. Lemke Department of Journalism at the University of
Arkansas.  I was born in Springdale, Arkansas and am proud to call
Northwest Arkansas my childhood home.  I’ve had a passion for journalism
since I was a little kid.  When I was three years old, I asked my parents
to take me to a television station on my birthday!

My first job in television was at age 17, as a production assistant at the NBC
affiliate KNWA in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  It was there that I learned how
a newsroom operates, and I was hooked.  While working at KNWA throughout
college, I got several chances to shadow reporters, including a trip to Kansas
City where I helped shoot a feature story on Arkansas native and MLB All-Star
Torii Hunter.

During my time at the University of Arkansas, I learned to write, shoot and edit
news stories.  I was an anchor at UATV, the campus news station.  On
campus, I was part of Razorvision Academy, a program for students wishing to
pursue a career in sports journalism.  I produced a feature story for Cox
Sports Television, and worked on the production crew for several ESPN live
events.

I love working in a newsroom, the fast-paced environment is something I thrive
on.  All my television experience has given me an appreciation for the
work that goes into the business.  It's a career that I love, and one that
I hope has many opportunities waiting for me.  Everyone in the viewing
area has welcomed me with open arms, and I’m very excited to bring you the
latest sports news from the Four States!
