JOPLIN, MO.--- A murder trial is now underway. Daniel Hartman is accused in the connection of the 2012 death of Jacob Wages. Jury selection was this morning. Both the defense and the prosecution made opening statements. That was followed by the state who began calling witnesses. Authorities say Hartman and four other men broke into Wages home on South Pearl in July of 2012 and shot him. Hartman was arrested in August of that year and charged with first degree murder. The other four men have all entered plea agreements for their role in the crime.
