LAMAR, MO.--- July has been a busy month for the organization. Since the first day of the month, they've added 24 new families, bringing the total number up to almost 600 families on their meal plan. In addition, more than 32 emergency food orders were made this month. That left the organization with almost nothing.
"We haven't been able to keep up with the emergency orders and that's what this food is, and we've put a call out to all the area churches to try to get them to bring us some food because we are so low," said Pat Neely, Good Samaritan Director.
Although the Ministerial Alliance has stepped in, the organization still needs canned goods. Donations can be made during office hours at the Good Samaritan on Parry Street in Lamar.
