CARTHAGE, MO.--- Whisler's in Carthage is making an American classic, and keeping it old fashioned. Whisler's opened back in 1953 by Charlie Whisler. Drew Evans is the current owner and has been running the burger resturant for the past four and a half years. Keeping with tradition, he's continued to do everything the Charlie Whisler way. The burgers are all natural beef bought locally from Worden's in Webb City.
"They're good little burgers and fresh meat, and you can't beat the grill, but I think it's the history," said Michele Perry, Whisler's employee.
On a regular day, they go through any where from 500 to 700 patties.
