Former Joplin City Worker Charged With Theft

JOPLIN, MO --A former Joplin City employee is charged with misdemeanor theft.

According to police 38-year-old Jeramy Jasperson was charged with the crime after an investigation into the Public Works Department.

He was stopped by police after leaving his work shift at the city garage last week.

Police found refrigerant and a case of oil stolen from the garage in his car.

City manager Mark Rohr ordered the investigation after hearing about potential criminal activity in Public Works Division.
