JOPLIN, MO.--- The Silver Creek Assisted Living and the Arbors at Silver Creek Memory Care, are kicking off their second annual "Flock a Friend" Flamingo Flocking Fundraiser. The fundraiser's proceeds go towards the Walk to End Alzheimer's. People are encouraged to flock anyone who is a friend, family member, or a place of business that will be willing to donate to Alzheimer's research. If you are flocked, those organizing the fundraiser will pick them up after two full days, unless you choose to flock someone else. Four flamingos per flock is a $10 minimum donation.
Silver Creek employees say they are hopeful the fundraiser will help Alzheimer research get a step closer to finding a cure. "It's a good cause, we deal with Alzheimer's a lot in our work, and we hope that they can get something done with it," said Kathy Page, Activities Director Silver Creek Assisted Living.
The fundraiser will continue until July 11th.
