WEBB CITY, MO.--- The Flip Shop Cheer Zone sent five teams to a worldwide Spirit Association Cheerleading Competition this weekend and all of them placed in the top three. Two of the Flip Shop Allstar teams placed first, two placed second and one third at the WSA National Cheerleading Competition.
"The expression on their faces was just priceless," said Ashley Cox, Assistant Coach.
One of the FSA teams not only placed first, but had their entry fee for a bigger competition was paid for by the WSA Cheerleading Company.
"Which is a huge honor. An an honor that our gym has never received before," said Cox.
The competition will be held in New Orleans April 12th and 13th.
"Being able to do all this different kind of stuff is amazing," said Harley Leake, Cheerleader.
The coaches and cheerleaders are excited for the challenge ahead.
"It's kind of like these kids are your own kids. You get to go down and see them number one, grow, but the attitudes that you get to see come from them and the overall joy that they get out of it," said Brad Biddle, Program Director.
"It feels, like, amazing and it's just really fun cause i like to do cheer," said Emma Cox, Cheerleader.
The team going to New Orleans won overall highest score for their division, while performing the highest level of stunting and tumbling they're allowed to do. Program Director Brad Biddle says they focus on sportsmanship and giving it their all every time they practice and perform.
"Don't let your life get you down. No matter what always try to do your best and that's something these girls bring to the table everyday. They give 110 percent at practice and they give 110 percent on the floor. They really deserved the win from this weekend," said Cox.
