Faithful Friends Thrift Store Soon to Open in Neosho

A new thrift store is opening in Neosho, a shopping experience where making a purchase helps local animals.
NEOSHO, MO.--- A new thrift store is opening in Neosho, a shopping experience where making a purchase helps local animals.

"The community around here has been incredible. They are very supportive! It's a wonderful goal to help these animals," said Sherrie Hansen, Faithful Friends Thrift Store Manager.

Faithful Friends Thrift Store is located just off Harmony Street in Neosho. All proceeds from the store will benefit a new no-kill shelter.

"By donating to Faithful Friends or spending money here, or donating time here, it is local and doesn't go anywhere else. It stays right here in Neosho to help these animals," said Hansen.

The store is currently seeking volunteers to help out the furry friends.

"We have a lot of needs. We can use volunteers. I've got lots of jobs for volunteers if anyone has even an hour or a week, we can use them," said Hansen.

Of course, we can't forget about donations.

"For the most part, we can take everything that's clean, that's very clean, very usable. No broken items, no trashy things," said Hansen.

Shopping at the store can make a difference, especially for those who want to help, but can't adopt a homeless pet.

"If you want to help the animals, but you can't adopt, can't foster, that's okay. We need help here. The more money we generate here, the more we are funneling it straight over to the shelter. And it will go direct care for the animals," said Hansen.

Competition is just feet away, but both stores hope team work will bring tails in.

"We hope that we can help each other," said Hansen.

"I think it's going to add more foot traffic, which is always a positive thing in business. And I think it's positive for Neosho to to bring another business in," said Kris Box, Closet Manager.

The store will officially open this Saturday.
