CARTHAGE, MO.--- A few hundred kids get a chance to meet the Easter bunny a couple days before the holiday. The Fair Acres YMCA in Carthage hosted a Easter celebration today. Kids had a chance to search for Easter eggs, eat candy and play games.
The celebration was organized by Teen Scene, which is made up of Carthage High School students who organized the different events. They prepared more than 1,900 eggs and hid them all throughout the YMCA facility. Organizers say seeing the children having fun made it worth all the hard work.
"It's a lot of fun to put something together and we like to see the kids faces light up as they find the eggs," said Beth Roberts, Teen Scene Organizer.
An estimated more than 500 kids came to the second annual event today.
