JOPLIN, MO.--- A Joplin hair salon remembers a Springfield girl who was kidnapped and murdered earlier this week. Stylists at Dr Fly's Salon in Joplin put pink extensions in clients' hair in honor of Hailey Owens, 10. The gesture came after family and friends asked community members to wear pink and purple for Hailey today. People donated $5 for an extension piece, and all the proceeds go to benefit the family. Those at the salon today say this is a tragedy that has touched many people.
"Everyone has kids. Just imagining it's just unbearable," said Angela Bailey, Lead Stylist at Dr. Fly's Salon.
The Joplin salon and their other locations will continue putting in extensions tomorrow.
