GALENA, KS.--- Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins of Kansas held a roundtable discussion with Southeast Kansas leaders today. There were county and city officials in attendance. They provided Congresswoman Jenkins with an update on how Southeast Kansas has been advancing. The officials also expressed some of the issues effecting this region, including the economy, healthcare, and the need for updated infrastructure. The main goal of the meeting was to build stronger relations between the people of Southeast Kansas and their elected officials.
"I think it's just important that we keep coming back. I think I challenged them all today, not to wait for me to come to town if there is a need. Some way that we can help at the federal level. It's part of their responsibility to call us, but we'll be checking in regularly," said Representative Lynn Jenkins, Kansas.
Adequate and affordable housing for Galena and its surrounding cities was also a topic of discussion at this meeting.
