JOPLIN, MO.---- Members with the the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks say there is less than a two day supply of blood at area hospitals. Currently, they are in desperate need of "O" negative and "A" negative blood. Organizers say you never know who the blood could help save.
"It could be a friend, it could be just an acquaintance, it could be a relative. I myself give because I have three children. I want to make sure that blood types on the shelf when they need it," said Karen Ringler, CBCO.
Several blood drives are scheduled in the area this week. One will be held Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lion's Club of Baxter Springs at 14th and Military. On Thursday, another will be held at Southwest Missouri Bank at 801 South Duquesne from 7:30 a.m. until noon.
