I count it a great privilege to have the opportunity to tell stories on a daily
basis. I joined the KODE news team in June 2013, and I'm so
excited to be a part of the communities in the four-state area.
Before joining KODE as a reporter, I interned at the NBC-affiliate in
Fayetteville, Arkansas where I developed confidence in my career choice.
There, I covered stories on just about everything from the gun control
debate, to extreme weather, to crime in the area. These experiences taught me
what it means to be an unbiased, well-rounded journalist.
Though I was raised a Texan, I graduated from the University of Arkansas in
Fayetteville with a B.A. in both Broadcast Journalism and English. My work as a
reporter for the University earned me a Mark of Excellence Award in Feature
Reporting from the Society of Professional Journalists. When I wasn't
working on a story, I volunteered for an outreach organization as
a mentor to high school students.
After growing up watching baseball, I remain a loyal fan of the Texas Rangers.
When I'm not working, I'm usually spending time with family and friends,
reading a good book, or spending time outdoors.
Send me an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org if there's a story you'd like to see covered, and I'll do my best!
