Children's Center Workers Wear Blue to Raise Awareness for Child Abuse

Since it opened back in 1997, the Children's Center in Joplin has helped more than 12,000 children.
JOPLIN, MO.--- Workers at the Children's Center of Southwest Missouri wore blue today to raise awareness because they see child abuse first hand everyday. Since it opened back in 1997, the Children's Center in Joplin has helped more than 12,000 children. Organizers say child abuse is prevalent and you need to be aware of it if you see it.

"So important, that we all be aware that children in our community, down our blocks are being abused.  There are abuses going on, sexual, physical, neglect and we all need to be aware," said Kathi Olson, Children's Centers.
