Could a drinking game have lead to the death of an 11-year old Joplin boy?

According to a probable cause statement filed at the Jasper County courthouse today the boy's uncle challenged him to a drinking game.

Today first degree child endangerment charges were filed against 27-year old Dale Phillips and his girlfriend 27-year-old Linda Petrait.

The couple was arrested early Monday evening.

They are charged in the death of Phillip’s 11-year-old nephew Tyler Fecko.

Phillip's can be seen in this video wearing a green shirt and Petrait is in the black tank top.

Joplin police say Tyler was staying at his uncle's home when he allegedly consumed a large amount of alcohol.

Police believe Tyler died of alcohol poisoning.

An autopsy performed today in Columbus will reveal the exact cause of death.

Joplin Police were called to Phillips' home Monday morning regarding a child unconscious and not breathing.

The 11 year old boy was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died.

Autopsy results are expected to be in sometime this week.

A toxicology report should come back in 6 to 8 weeks.

Phillips and Petrait are each being held on 50-thousand dollar bonds.
