Cherokee County Morning Raid

GALENA, KS. --- Just after 7am Thursday, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office and Southeast Kansas Enforcement Task Force executed a search warrant at 1006 West Vine St., just outside of Galena. The raid was the result of a nearly yearlong investigation surrounding suspected illegal narcotic activity at the residence.

During the search, investigators discovered a meth lab in progress. Also, the finished product, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were found.

Troy Drury, 37, of the home was taken into custody on allegations of Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Samantha J. Heine, 29, of the home was also arrested on allegations of Manufacture of Methamphetamine, and several possession charges.

Both suspects are being held without bond pending the filing of formal charges. This investigation is ongoing and additional charges and arrests are anticipated.
