CARTHAGE, MO.--- The Carthage School District's new early childhood center now has a name. Longtime Carthage Resident Ruth I. Kolpin Rubinson donated $100,000 to acquire naming rights to part of the building. The "Ruth I. Kolpin Rubinson Early Childhood Education Center" will be built along Fairview Avenue. Rubinson has been a Carthage resident for more than 50 years and is an advocate for education.
"As those students are progressing through the district, they'll be thankful for the contributions she's made to their education," said Beth James, R-9 Director of Special Services.
Earlier this year, the KD&ML Steadley Trust donated $350,000 to the project. Carthage school leaders will hold a groundbreaking for the facility next week.
