Carthage Board of Education Holds Special Meeting

The Carthage School District holds a special meeting this morning to discuss plans for next school year.

CARTHAGE, MO--- The Carthage School District holds a special meeting this morning to discuss plans for next school year. The board met for nearly three hours this morning and discussed numerous topics from student performance to education goals. District leaders also spent a significant amount of time discussing current construction projects. The district's new Early Childhood Development Center is currently under construction and the district expects it to be completed by February.
 
"It's an early childhood center with the parents as teachers weighing in on it as well. Som that building will at this point in time with the weather continues to be cooperative, we should be able to move into that in February of this coming school year. So we're really looking forward to getting in there," says Carthage Schools Superintendent Dr. Blaine Henningsen.

The district has also acquired land southwest of Carthage at the intersection of Highway HH and Chapel Road. That area will house the future fourth and fifth grade center. The district is already discussing naming rights for that building.
