Carterville Man Charged for Threatening to Kill a Woman

CARTERVILLE, MO.--- A Carterville man is charged with threatening to kill a woman. Robert Whisner is charged with one count of second degree domestic assault, armed criminal action and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon. Authorities say Whisner was drunk when he hit and kicked the woman. He's also accused of hitting the woman with a pistol.

Officers say Whisner fired three shots, twice into the floor and once through a wall. He's also accused of threatening to kill the woman, officers say he pointed the pistol to her head several times and put it into her mouth. Whisner has since bonded out of jail.
