Busy Carthage Intersection to Become Four-Way Stop

The Carthage Special Road District moves forward with plans to improve safety in north Carthage.
CARTHAGE, MO.--- Crews will install a four-way stop sign at the intersection of Civil War Road and Kafir Road September 22nd. The Jasper County Safety Advisory Committee recommended the change to the commission. Right now, there are only two stop signs at the intersection along Civil War Road.

"It is a busy intersection, the highway patrol has said that there's more speeders and maybe folks that don't stop and slow down for that intersection," said Jim Honey, Jasper County Commissioner.

Commissioners say signs near the intersection will soon be put up to alert drivers the four-way stop is coming, so they can prepare for the change.
