WEBB CITY, MO.--- Susan Ness is the owner of the Berry Shed in Webb City. She has more than a thousand plants and says this is one of her best years. The berries are ripening a bit later than usual, but the berries are extra plumb and now are ready for picking. She says this year has been a pleasant surprise.
"The rain has made it a little bit easier on the berries. Bigger, plumper berries. They like rain, they like the cold, they like rain. They like a lot of water," said Susan Ness, Berry Shed Owner.
The blackberry crop will be ripe in July.
