JOPLIN, MO.--- A well loved Joplin principal is retiring at the end of May. St. Mary's Elementary School Principal Steve Jones will be retiring after eight years with the school. He has worked for 38 years in education. He retired once before from the Joplin School District after serving 20 years. He feels the time is right, especially with a new school being built.
"I think it would be best for a new person to go into the school and start the school in the direction they want to continue," said Steve Jones, St. Mary's Principal.
His last day will be May 23rd.
