PITTSBURG, KS.--- More than a hundred future teachers had a chance to apply for their first job today in one spot. Pittsburg State University held its annual Teacher Interview Day. PSU graduates talked to people from more than 70 different school districts. Job-seekers handed out resumes, shook hands and found out what schools are looking for in a new teacher. Organizers say there are several key items to look for when you're conducting an interview.
"Some teachers come in very professionally, some of them sit down and, oh my, did you know you're having an interview today? Well spoken and being able to communicate very well," said Piper Stewart, Lamar R-1.
Organizers say the numbers of districts that are interviewing is up over last year.
