PITTSBURG, KS.--- The next generation of health care workers gets a chance to learn about the nursing profession. Pittsburg State University hosted a Nursing Career Day. Nearly 100 high school students visited the nursing school to learn from the PSU seniors. The students learned how to inject a needle, start an IV and also give C.P.R. Organizers say it's a great recruiting tool for future PSU students, but it also weeds out those who may not work out in the field.
"There's some students today, when they see blood splash back, it kind of, you can see them get squeamish a bit," said Brooke McNerlin, PSU Nursing Senior.
At last count, 90 students participated in the event.
