JOPLIN, MO.--- They may be young, but some area students are already showing their work in an art gallery. More than a 150 students from 20 area schools have their art on display at the Spiva Gallery at Missouri Southern State University. Students from kindergarten to 12th grade have pieces in the gallery. Josie Mai is an art professor at MSSU and she says it's amazing to see the kid's art grow between the different grades.
"I'm thrilled 21st century art skills are here. Teachers teach them the bigger picture about creativity and problem solving. Not just art class, get it done," said Josie Mai, MSSU Associate Art Professor.
The art will be on display until the end of the month.
