JOPLIN, MO.--- Several Missouri Southern State University students took a trip back in clothing history. Students in the Costume History Class at MSSU are preserving thousands of donated Joplin clothing, some date back to the 1800's. They were given to the Joplin Museum Complex. The students are putting the clothes in acid free boxes so they won't deteriorate. Also, they are cataloging the clothes so they could be used for future exhibits. The students say people dressed a lot better back in the day.
"Getting dressed and undressed during dinner, lunch, we dress once a day and we're good," said Christy Hernandez, MSSU Junior.
The students will be cataloging and boxing up the clothes for the next several months.
