JOPLIN, MO.--- Looking for a job out of college can be challenging, but one area university is trying to make it easier. Missouri Southern State University in Joplin hosted it's annual Spring Career Fair today. 85 different area employers set up booths inside the Leggett and Platt Athletic Center. More than a thousand students and alumni attended the fair. Organizers say it's a chance to put a face to a resume, which in these digital times can be rare.
"A career fair is your one opportunity to actually meet with an employer from the start. Otherwise, your turning in an application or resume through a website and many never get to speak to that person until they get called in for an interview," said Nicole Brown, MSSU Director of Career Services.
Organizers say the best advice is to be persistent in your job search.
