JOPLIN, MO.--- Some historic homes in Joplin are getting a bit of a color makeover with a new exhibit. Joan Statel has been a water color artist for more than 20 years. Her artwork is now on display at the Post Memorial Art Reference Library in Joplin. She likes to paint old historic homes and has focused on several in historic Murphysburg in downtown Joplin. She says she started coloring with paint-by-numbers as a kid and fell in love.
"Sit there an I loose track of time. I love how the water color just flows," said Joan Statel, Water Color Artist.
Her art will be inside the post library until the end of the month.
