Brad's Beat: Ghost Peppers

A Carthage family is growing ghosts down on their farm, ghost peppers that is.
CARTHAGE, MO.--- A Carthage family is growing ghosts down on their farm, ghost peppers that is. Brad Staggs and his family have started growing ghost peppers. Ghost peppers are one of the hottest peppers in the world and 500 times hotter than a jalapeno. The family has started selling them at the Webb City Farmers Market and they sell out every week.

"We broke one off the plants, broke the end of it off and touched it to my lip, and instantly hot all over my mouth and up my nose. I was like 'I don't think I can eat this one," said Mende Staggs, Apple Road Farms.

The family will sell the ghost peppers at the Webb City Farmers Market on Saturday, it opens at 9 a.m.
