JOPLIN, MO.--- For the month of October, you may notice a bit of extra color in ladies hair. Dr. Fly's Salon setup inside of the lobby of Freeman Health System to sell pink hair extensions. They are selling them for $10 and all of the proceeds will go to the Freeman Helping Friends Mammogram Fund. The salon has been doing it several years and it's just a way to show that you are supporting people as they battle cancer.
"It's wax and melts into the hair. Then we roll it and it stays in the hair several months, usually have to come in and take it out," said Novah Guenther, Dr. Fly's Salon.
Dr. Fly's will be performing hair extensions this Saturday at the Freeman's Women Center at 1532 W. 32nd Street in Joplin. They will be available from 8 a.m. until noon.
