JOPLIN, MO.--- If you didn't get the memo, today was the day to wear red. Freeman Health System is celebrating the "Go Red for Women" event. It's a reminder to women to be aware of heart disease. Kristi Seibert recently suffered a heart attack. She was ironically at the hospital getting a check up when it happened. She had noticed some subtle signs like back pains off and on, but never suspected she was having a heart attack.
"I thought if it was a heart issue, it would be excruciating and knock me to my knees. Didn't realize it'd been a naggy thing," said Kristi Seibert,
Heart disease is the number one killer of women, more than all forms of cancer combined.
