JOPLIN, MO.--- Some young broadcasters are keeping their fellow students informed every morning. The Broadcasting Club at Columbia Elementary School in Joplin produce a 4 minute show every morning. It is then broadcasted over the intercom for all the students to hear. The students read the latest news affecting the kids, along with weather and instead of sports they read the lunch menu. The students say they often get recognized by students they've never met.
"My little sister is in kindergarten and she thinks it's really awesome. Now, every single kindergartner knows my name," said Micah Bruggman, 5th Grade Broadcaster.
Teachers say the kids are learning some valuable lessons, like public speaking, that they can use later in life.
