Brad's Beat Cartoonist Club

The Joplin High School Cartoonist Club meets once a week after school to create comics and has had 5 issues published already.
JOPLIN, MO.--- A group of area artists could be creating the next block buster movie hero. The Joplin High School Cartoonist Club meets once a week after school to create a comic book.

So far, 5 issues have been published along with a trade paperback. The group says with shows like the Walking Dead and movies like Iron Man, comic books are now mainstream.

"A lot of people wouldn't, even back then, know what a comic is or if they did, they would think it's for losers or geeks. Now, they're like lets check this out, that is kinda cool," said Wyatt Bruner, Senior.

The group has 14 members and each year it gets bigger.
