JOPLIN, M O.--- The donation marks the 150th anniversary of the construction company. Workers have spent the last several weeks building the bikes by hand. The executive director of the Boys and Girls Club says they currently have more than 300 children enrolled, and the bikes will be awarded to some very deserving children.
"We don't have big government money that supports us. So when someone can bring something in that helps support our budget or helps support our program, it's amazing," said Rhonda Gorham, Boys and Girls Club.
McCarthy Company employees are building more than 320 bikes nationwide and plan to award more bikes to Missouri children in need over the next few weeks.
