BAXTER SPRINGS, KS.--- A consumer protection team was in Baxter Springs today to help effected residents from the tornado avoid fraudulent activity. The team worked to make sure storm victims do not become victims of scammers trying to take advantage of the disaster. The Kansas Attorney General's Office warns residents to be weary of any door to door sales scams in the region. The office also asks people who want to donate to the disaster relief to only give money to well-known charities. If anyone needs any information, they can call the consumer protection hotline at 800-432-2310.
