LAMAR, MO.--- Throughout National Hospital Week, Barton County Memorial Hospital is raising money for local charities. For the past two years, hospital employees have teamed up to compete against each other in order to raise the most money and/or food items. The donations will help support five different organizations in the area. Employees tells us although the week is filled with fun activities and food for employees, it's also about the community.
"We have so many things given to the hospital and we have great people that work here, and we want to pay it forward and we want to give and help others. So we just figured this was a good way to get out in the community and help the charities," said Shelia Boice, BCMH H.R. Director.
Employees kicked the week off with tea time, but workers are mostly looking forward to Wednesday waffles and fried chicken Friday.
