Arrest Made in Carthage Robbery

Zaveon Thomas of Joplin was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Burglary and 3rd Degree Assault of a Law Enforcement Officer.
CARTHAGE, MO. --- Just before 1am, Sunday, Carthage Police Officers were called to the 1400 block of Kimberly Lane in reference to an assault. Investigation determined the 33-year-old male victim had been assaulted and his property stolen after he was knocked unconscious.

The suspect fled the area on foot and was later located by officers. He then, spit on and tried to bite an officer.

The suspect was identified as Zaveon Thomas, 20, of Joplin. He was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Robbery and 3rd Degree Assault of a Law Enforcement Officer. The Jasper County Prosecutor's Office filed the charges and bond was set at $20,000 for the robbery and $5,000 for the assault charge. He is currently being held at the Jasper County Jail.
