PITTSBURG, KS.--- The Community Health Center partnered with Southeast Kansas Community Action Program to help with transportation needs. The shuttle will service patients within a 15 mile radius of Pittsburg, both to and from appointments at either C.H.C or S.E.K. Medical care leaders estimate about 25% of missed appointments are due to transportation problems.
"They rely on family, friends, neighbors sometimes to help get them to and from their appointments. So it just makes sense to help provide that extra added bit of assistance to our patients," said Bob Burk, C.H.C. Community Relations Director.
Rides will be available by appointment Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Patients can call 620-240-5079 to arrange transportation.
